I decided that on my next day off I would practice my confession. Wednesday rolled around, and I knelt at the side of my bed and said, “Forgive me, Lord, for all of my sins. Cleanse me from all unrighteousness. Make me whatever you want me to be. . . . Blah. Blah. Blah. . . . Make me whatever you want me to be. . . . Blah. Blah. Blah. Make me whatever you want me to be.”

Then, I heard a voice that said, “Great fisherman.”

This voice was like that of a judge or a stern father. I knew immediately that I was subject to this greater authority.

I replied, “I am weak.”

God said, “Vessel.”

“I am not that smart.”

“You are not stupid.”

I realized I was talking with God and I am going to heaven. I then asked,

“What about my son?”

“Wait.”
